UX Researcher

Advanced Technology and Projects Team

Oct 2021- Feb 2023

Google via Adecco + AutoRoboto LLC / Mountain View, California

Advanced Technology & Projects is Google's hardware invention studio. We are a group of engineers, scientists, artists and designers working together to turn new ideas into finished products that change the way we relate to technology.

  • Planned and executed end to end qualitative and quantitative UX studies including usability, interviews, participatory design workshops and user surveys for novel features in mobile devices

  • Analyzed qualitative and quantitative user datasets to inform product development decisions in Software UI and Hardware design for internal tools and consumer facing products

  • Developed high fidelity interfaces and user flows with UI designers and developers for an internal data collection application for researchers and data analysts in health sensing R&D

  • Conducted literature reviews and competitive analysis to inform research direction and identify gaps and opportunities in novel health sensing features

Human Factors Researcher

Google Pixel Watch

Aug 2020- Sept 2021

Google via Adecco / Mountain View, California

  • Moderated human data collection trials to collect biometric, health and qualitative demographic data on wearable devices used to tune algorithms and inform hardware and firmware design of the Pixel Watch

  • Recruited and scheduled 200+ participants for both in person and remote data collections.

  • Developed experimental and safety protocols with Environmental Health and Safety to collect data during Covid-19 pandemic

Master’s Thesis Student Intern

Sept 2017- Jan 2019

Integrum AB / Gothenburg, Sweden

Performed Usability Analysis and designed user interface for a virtual reality driven at-home physiotherapy system using FDA Guidelines, IEC 62366 and User Centered Design Methodology.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Performed in-depth literature review (Tools used: Mendeley)

  • Designed a survey to better understand user preferences using results of the literature study about patient motivation (tools used: Google Surveys, Excel)

  • Performed User Interviews with both clinicians and patients to better understand how they understood the technology and the value they saw in it. Used transcribed quotes from these interviews to create an affinity diagram in order to define user needs and use patterns.

  • Performed unobtrusive observation of user tasks in home environments to identify areas for usability improvement

  • Performed competitive benchmarking of the system against similar biometric-based home physiotherapy systems

  • Led synthesis workshop with research team, using KJ analysis for synthesizing ethnographic data

  • Developed Personas from ethnographic research (Tools used: Illustrator)

  • Led brainstorming effort with both technical and research teams to identify added functionalities that would improve the at-home user experience

  • Developed initial wireframe to showcase added functionalities and proposed navigation to team (tools used: Illustrator, Figma and Sketch)

  • Developed interactive clickable prototype for remote user testing (tools used: Photoshop, Illustrator and Proto.io)

  • Performed remote user test (tools used: Proto.io and Lookback)

  • Developed storyboard for use cases (tools used: Overflow)

  • Presented findings to Integrum AB for future development planning purposes
