Shannon Brown
I am a User Researcher with international experience working with development teams developing a range of technologies, from the Pixel Watch at Google, to Airpods at Apple, to Prosthetics and Therapy at Chalmers University of Technology. I feel so lucky to have worked with so many talented people making world class products.
I was raised in the Arizona desert and have a bachelors from Arizona State University in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters in Interaction Design from Chalmers.
After finishing my Bachelors in 2015 I received an international fellowship to develop wearable tech and I packed up my life and moved to Sweden to work with the Smart Textile Lab at the University of Borås. There I worked with leading researchers to create fully integrated textile wearables for monitoring arm and leg movements with surface electromyography.
I then started to work with the supremely talented scientists at the Biomechatronics and Neurorehabilitation Lab at Chalmers University of Technology where I researched and developed both physical and digital user interfaces for therapeutic technologies. During this time I enjoyed collaborating with clinicians, patients, engineers, anthropologists and designers in pursuit of creating devices to improve human health.
Life (insert immigration woes here) brought me back to the US where I was fortunate to land a role working with the Human Factors Team for Google Hardware as well as the innovative Advanced Technology and Projects Group developing the first generation Pixel watch, among other cutting edge projects at Google. After the Google Layoffs in early 2023 my Swedish husband and I set our sights back on Sweden and in the meantime (insert immigration woes here) I was fortunate to find a temp role with the LiveOn Team at Apple and work with world class Program Managers ensuring the highest quality experience of Apple Products through their through internal testing program.
I am so excited to be heading back to Sweden and jag har pluggat mycket svenska när jag var i USA med Svenska Skolan i Silicon Valley och på egen hand och nu är jag redo för ett nytt äventyr i Sverige igen!
